MY FRIEND JESUS

Did you ever meet a person that you liked from the start
and whenever they're away from you
you held them in your heart?
and when tragic news comes your way
it makes you start to cry
Well, I met someone who'll stay with me
even when I die.

Now my friend doesn't worry what you may look like
He doesn't care if you're rich or poor
or if you're black or white
All he ask is believe in him
and he will see you through
Won't you please go with me
so I can introduce you?

Now you may say, 'I have lots of friends.'
and maybe you think you do
But are they around when times get rough?
Do they ever think of you?
So if you're looking, I know of a man
on whom you can depend
He will always be true to you
He's the one I recommend

His name is Jesus
He is a friend to me
and he can be a friend to you for eternity
So find a place where you can pray
and tell him how you feel
And you'll soon have a friend for life
a true friend that is real.
