After Christmas

Christmas Day is over
the tree is bare beneath
the gifts have been all passed out
Soon the world will be asleep

But the true meaning of Christmas
will live forevermore
The babe that came in the manger
was so very much more

He grew as any child would
and soon he became a man
his love for us was truly shown
when he died on the cross, it began

He arose again, in heaven he reigns
He's waiting for you to pray
When you do, he'll forgive you
then you'll understand Christmas Day
